Feeling better.

Those weird stretching pains I was having have subsided. Thank goodness. Haven't felt anything like that since Sunday afternoon.

I went to MamaGoose (consignment store) yesterday and picked up a couple things! They had a Kolcraft Universal Carseat Carrier for $10 so I got that. It's great - folds easily with one hand and I can lift it into the car with one hand. We'll use this for the stroller and snap the carseat into it until baby girl outgrows the infant carseat, and then after that we'll use an umbrella type stroller. I'm just not a fan of the "travel systems" that are so big and bulky. I'll probalby look to getting a jogging stroller eventually too. NOT because I jog, but because the big tires will be better in grass, at the park, at farm days and stuff like that.

I also picked up a dozen chinese prefold diapers... I was surprised to find that they carried prefolds, covers, and even a pricey brand (bamboozles). Wish they had a few other brands so I could see some in person before buying over the net.

I have been very tired lately... not sure if it's because of the busy weekend last week and I'm still trying to recouperate? Or if it's the beginning of the pregnancy tiredness that returns near the end...

I'm 25 weeks today.
web update -
Your baby may be very active between weeks 24 to 28, when small size and ample amniotic fluid allow for freedom of movement. You may feel your baby jump in response to loud sounds or "settle" at the sound of your voice. Studies indicate that your baby can respond to touch. Your baby is around 14 inches from head to toe, and weighs 1 pound, 12 ounces to 2 pounds 3 ounces.

This past week I've realized just how close to being "done" I am... I have 15 weeks left (hopefully) ... is that enough time to find daycare? Is that enough time to figure out what baby gear we want/need? Is that enough time to stock our freezer with meals for after baby is born? Is that enough time left for just Richie and I together? Is that enough time for us to finish the nursery? ... so many thoughts going through my mind!

Last weekend we told my parents what the name will be. No objections there! :)

I've been feeling quite well physically, but I have to say I'm starting to notice that I am getting a bit uncomfortable. I've started sleeping with a pillow between my knees at night and that seems to help me stay get comfortable. I am also noticing that my ribs ache by about 3-4pm everyday. I was sitting at my desk the other day doing some paperwork and I was just so uncomfortable sitting there, so although I'm not "huge"... I'm starting to feel that way.

I had to take my rings off on Monday. Last weekend it was so warm out and my hands were swollen so I couldn't get them off. Monday morning I ran them under very cold water and forced them off... I think they'll end up sitting in the drawer until after baby girl is born.

Since last evening I have not felt very well though... on the way home last night, I got a sharp pain down low when I stood up. It's been a pretty constant ache since then and the lower half of my belly was quite firm ...the top stayed squishy though, so I don't think it was/is contractions...not sure what it is though. I did comment yesterday that I feel most of baby girl's movements on the right side...and now this morning I'm feeling them in the middle and some on the left - I wonder if she was/is just positioned differently now?

I'm 2 weeks behind on pictures - but I DO have them and I will post them!

Eek!

Yikes! Had my appointment today and guess how much I'm up...

Up another 8 pounds! That makes a total of 15 pounds by this point! Let me say I was just a tad shocked when I saw the scale keep going up-up-up... I've been used to a pound a week, but 2 pounds a week for the past 4 weeks!?! Where is it all going? I don't look or feel like I've gained that much! (or... do I really look like I have, but nobody will tell me!?!) ha ha ha!

Saw the midwife Kate today. Now I've seen all 4 of the midwives. I like all of them and honestly don't really have a preference. Richie has met all of them except for Gay. We made our next appointment with Graham.

Baby's heartrate was about 140. Kate measured my "fundal height"...or the height to the top of my uterus and I'm measuring just about 2 weeks ahead... she said somewhere between 25-26 weeks and as of today I'm 23 weeks 4 days. She said anything within 2 weeks (either side) is considered normal. She also told me that I have a long torso, so the weight has more space to spread out without making me "pop" out.

The next time I go in is on July 9th for the glucose test and some antibody tests. Then our next midwife appointment is July 11th. That's the appointment where I have to get the rhogam shot since I have B-negative blood.

A belly picture - a week later...

This is the picture from a week ago today. I spent the weekend in Rochester with Megan. She took some pictures of me in the gazebo along the canal. Last weekend Megan was also able to feel the baby move!
Richie was actually able to ~see~ the baby move earlier this week :) She is moving a LOT lately. Has a few predictable time sof when she is active - tons of movement around 6-9am, and again in the evening from 7-9pm, but I do feel her throughout the day a lot too.

Yikes!

Summer is here. Life is getting busy again! I did take a belly picture last week, but it's still in the camera - I'll get it posted though.

Just wanted to post a couple of quick updates -

Richie's mom and I went to a lawn sale last weekend and scored big time on baby girl clothes! The crib is seriously about 3/4 full of clothes now... a ton of them even new with tags on them!

Also, I started calling a few of the day care numbers I have. Found a lady that sounds very promising. She is only about 4 miles from us. She is a certified group day care (so there are 2 adults there all day). Been in business for 20+ years. And... I'm the first one on her waiting list :) She has a 4 year old and an infant that will be leaving soon, and she's going to call me when they do leave. She said fall/winter would be perfect time for her to take on a new little one :) Other good things about her - she'll change cloth diapers! And - we can afford her!!! :) Heck, at her price, we could even afford to have a second baby before our first is in kindygarden!!!

I found a new kind of cloth pocket diaper that I also want to try. It's called a bumgenius! It's very much like the fuzzi bunz, but this is a one size - fits 8-35 pounds so we would only have to buy one set of dipes. I'll probalby order 1-2 of these like I did with the fuzzi bunz - and then try a little bit of everything on the baby once she's here. THEN order a bigger stash of whatever works best.
