A large hole in the wall...

October 8th turned out to be a beautiful day - the weather was warm enough that Rich was able to put in the new front door (before winter weather and cold gets here).

Photobucket This is the best "before" picture I have - Rich had already taken off the actual door - the one that was painted in an awful turquoisey/seafoamy green color (on the outside). The trim and sidelights were the dark wood with stain on them.

The job ended up being easier than Rich anticipated as once he had the old door and frame out, he found that the support beam was where he needed it and he didn't need to put in a new one. That saved a few hours of work!
Photobucket The huge hole in the wall!
Photobucket Much nicer! The new door lets in so much daylight. A very welcomed change to the darkness that we've had. The doors and sidelights have the blinds inside of the glass, I highly recommend that option if anyone is thinking of it someday.
Photobucket This was taken the weekend Richie put the door in - now the trim and siding are all back on - I really should go take another picture!

And my favorite from the remodel -
