Well, it seems I got the genetics my mom did as far as morning sickness goes...and we both pretty much avoided it. I wish I could avoid the headaches she got around 3 months, but I think I'm headed in that same general direction. I'm 10 weeks now and starting Friday night I had a pretty bad headache. I thought it was because I stretched myself thin on sleep that day by not getting in a nap and then going out to the school play that evening... but even after a good night sleep, all day Saturday I had a headache. Here it is Sunday morning and I've still got one. It's definitely not a migraine, but it's still no fun.
On happier notes... here's a little update about little Fidget... (yeah, the in-utero nickname for this little one is Fidget)... :)
Your baby-to-be is about 50 millimeters crown to rump and weighs about eight grams (about a quarter of an ounce, or about the weight of 8 paperclips). The irises are now forming. The liver, intestines, brain and lungs are beginning to function on their own. The primitive "tail" is now gone. The intestines are beginning to migrate into the abdominal cavity and the external genitalia are present but difficult to distinguish. Now that most of the major organ work is done, your baby adds such details as hair, fingernails and toenails. While your baby's head is nearly as large as the rest of her body, head growth begins to slow during this period.
