We saw Meg. She's a NP. We were supposed to see Kit, but she wasn't in today :( We didn't so much care for Meg. I got the feeling she was talking to me like a know-nothing-first-time-mom... ugh!
Oh, and I've noticed a pattern each time I take Laura in...
Nurse: Are you breastfeeding?
Me: yes, exclusively.
Nurse: So how many ounces does she eat?
Am I the only one who thinks that's a silly question??? ha ha ha! Oh well!
Anyways... Laura is super healthy :) She's... ready for this? ....
14 pounds 6.4 ounces! That's around the 75th percentile.
25.5 inches! That's around 90th percentile...although, I'd venture to guess that's maybe a little on the long side of accurate? They always end up marking with the pen through her hair and it doesn't always look like they get the pen mark in the right spot...oh well. Close enough.
Her head circumference is 16cm and that's about the 50th percentile. Good thing it wasn't that big when it came out! ha ha ha!
She got all her 4 month shots today...same as the 2 month stuff so there was 1 oral (rota virus) and 4 shots :( Last time they had 2 nurses come in and they each did a leg and they did them at the same time so it was all over really quickly. This time there was only one nurse and it seemed like it took forever. Laura was in a great mood during the actual exam, but then it was running way past nap time and she was probably hungry... and by the time they got in there with the vaccines, she was already a crying mess. It felt like the whole vaccine part took forever and then it took a long time for me to calm her down too.
This was this evening... her chunk-o thigh showing off her battle wounds...

I ended up not even getting to feed her before we left - she was too upset to settle down for that. I got her in the car and we drove around the block and she finally passed out. We then went to the mall for a couple things and she slept the whole way through there. (maybe 30 minutes).
Then we went to papa johns and picked up a pizza and soda to take to Richie's work for us and his boss. Laura was definitely hungry at that point and I ended up taking her out to the car to feed her and she screamed most of the time. I didn't want to stay in the office because they were having a meeting. She ended up eating for a bit, then snoozing after sobbing for a bit...then when we went back inside she was just as happy and content as her normal self :) She was babbling away and being ever so cute!
After there, her and I went to my doctor's appointment. We waited for about 30 minutes to be seen and she slept the whole time. My doctor is awesome... she waived me copay fee today because of how long I had to wait AND because I brought in my cute baby :) I love my doctor :) She's awesome!
Laura was still asleep when we left there so we stopped quick at Tops for some groceries and then needed a quick fill up on gas and then we came home. She ate from the bottle and then from me. We have discovered that when she's that upset and crying hysterically, that she can't wait long enough for me to have a letdown - she needs the immediate satisfaction (bottle) and then I can switch her over to me once she's realized what it is I'm trying to do (feed her).
She took a nap after that and the had some happy time in her diaper on the floor. Then another crying fit and now has eaten again and is in bed.
I did give her some tylenol at around 5pm... not sure if it helped her or not... not sure if all the crying was just from a messed up napping schedule today (from not being home) or if something from getting her vaccines was making her uncomfortable. She's resting peacefully now though :)
This was tonight...she was playing with her precious moments animals that we keep on her changing table. She loves putting them in her mouth.
