Speaking of little, today was Laura's last day of being the baby at daycare. Monday a new boy starts. He's 2 months younger than Laura, but he's bigger than her. So she's still the littlest one. Other daycare news... today was Grace's last day :( We'll miss her... even though she pushed me down the stairs the other day (not on purpose!) ... she's a sweet girl and I'll miss seeing her greet us each morning. I was able to snag a great picture of her with Laura the other morning though.
Oh, right...you all came here for 9 month updates!
Had her appointment today.
Stats...
Height 29 inches!
Weight 19 pounds 9.6 ounces. Up just 2.5 pounds since her last check up. I was guessing she was near the 21 pound mark...
Nothing else really exciting to say from the appointment - she's growing right on track. Heatlthy girl. She did get another Hep B today (which still has me a tad confused...) and they checked her blood levels - H&H is great and her lead level was marked as 'Low'.
* She eats pretty much whatever we're eating now. Of course, we're trying to not do sugary stuff yet - so sorry, no cake until her first birthday most likely.
*She is still wearing all the same clothes she was a month ago and they still fit well.
*I think she's in a size 3 shoe - although, most of the time she is bearfoot so I don't really know. I have one pair of size 3 sandals that fit her.
*Still in her medium fuzzibunz and bumgenius.
*Going to bed typically around 7-7"30, although she still wakes up between 20-45 minutes after I lie her down. She'll either have a burp or something and she typically ends up crying and fussing for about 5 minutes before passing back out like this -

(Yep, that's the only picture I took of her today...totally forgot to get a "9 month" shot!) Oops. Bad mommy. he he he!
*She still wakes a couple times during the night to eat - but she seems to have dropped the 1-2 am thing! Yay! Usually it's a feeding between 9-11 and again between 4-6ish.
*She has eliminated her morning nap (for the most part). SOmetimes she'll squeeze in a short 20 minute snooze in the am, but mostly she goes off of her solid afternoon nap which is anywhere from 1-2+ hours. And she's finally in her pack-n-play at daycare for naps! Woohoo!
*She has a tooth. Yep, just one. Tiny little spike sticking out of the bottom left side. No, she hasn't bitten me yet! She's not been terribly cranky the past week or so either.
*She crawls all over the place! When I get to daycare she'll see me and make a beeline for me and then crawl up my leg until I pick her up. She can stand unassisted for about 3-4 seconds at a time, but she doesn't do it very often. Maybe once - twice a week at this point.
*She waves to everything. Not necessarily byebye, but she does wave. No pattycake or clapping yet, but we're working on that!
*She wants to feed herself for the most part. Loves to have bite sized things she can pick up. She despises her infant cereals! Good thing I'm at the end of my last 2 boxes!
*She loves fruit... that's probalby her all time favorite thing. Oh, and her newest love this evening was "pirates booty". Mmm!
*She's saying mama and dada a lot. I really think she knows 'mama'...she's used it appropriately a few times... including a middle of the night loud and deliberate MaMa a few nights ago. That felt great :)
*She still uses a bottle. We try the sippy cup with her here and there, but she's not great about lifting it up yet. She does hold it, but not lift it. She's dropped her daily intake of breastmilk down to about 8 ounces on a consistent basis. Although, there are days where she only takes 3 ounces. Ugh! She does not eat a large quantity of solids either...maybe an ounce-2 three times a day.
... I'll jot more if I think of more, but I think that's our 9 month old in a nutshell :)
Oh yeah, and she's back to smiling ALL.The.TIME. :)

Thanks for all the great info.
I'm sure I will have tons of questions as time passes.
I will be trying to breast feed and I thinking about using cloth diapers. Especially at home. We'll just have to see how things play out.
Thanks!
I love hearing about other babies that are a similar age, because Colin's breast milk intake has dropped a ton too! I don't know how much, but I swear that he gets the majority of his meals at 11,1, 3 and 6 am! Oh, and you may want to try a plastic juice box with a pop up straw, you can find one at target for $1.50. It's so hot here that Colin has to have hydration, and he can drink from a straw so we do that. He gulps water down!
I love Laura's jams in that pic, so cute! And I can't wait for "mama".
Ha ha! She has caught up to Owen. He was 29 inches, 19lbs 9.6 oz too! But that was at his 1 yr well visit!
