Home from the doctors.

No answers. Her physical exam revealed nothing but a healthy child.
She is 20 pounds 9 ounces (up 1 pound exactly since her 9 month visit.

They did bloodwork and her white count was a little up (14,000) but they said that's not alarming for a baby her age.

The current thoughts are now:
*Roseola
*Coxsackie virus (hand-foot-mouth) although she has no sores or anything
*UTI
*some other random virus that is passing through

Gave us 2 options:
(1) go home and wait it out some more and call tomorrow (saturday) if it gets higher or continues
(2) put a bag on her to collect a urine sample

We're going with option #2. If here white cell count was really high they were going to cath her for a sample. Poor girl. Luckily, it's just the bag for now.

Laura's temp was 97.6 at the office. ...with the ear thermometer. I told the nurse it wouldn't be accurate. Her response was "well, that's because you gave her ibuprofen". No, I gave ibuprofen at 4am. That was 7 hours ago. It'll be inaccurate because no ear thermometer is going to be accurate on a baby that age with small ear canals like she has. She said "maybe we should check a rectal". I told her that's how I've been checking and I could tell she wasn't 97.6. Yep, mommy was right. 100.2

She's sound asleep now in her crib.

Poor thing. I would have thought it was teeth too, although it never seems to be what I think it is. I hope that she feels better soon and there are no more instances of crying like last night... : (

Good for you for asking for a rectal. Poor gal, I hope that it's just roseola and that it passes very soon!
